Every year there’s big news in the disc golf industry, and one of the biggest news stories of 2025 that … drumroll … The World’s Biggest Disc Golf Weekend is back. And it’s back with a new mission and a new format.

For anyone who doesn’t know World's Biggest started in 1991 and the international version started in 1992 in almost 200 cities and over 15,000 players worldwide. Over the years, WB brought in hundreds of thousands of new players to disc golf: even luminaries like Doug Bjerkaas, Executive Director of the PDGA and Michael Downes, Program Director of the PDGA -- had their first organized disc golf experience at their local WB event.
World’s Biggest gave away baskets for multiple 9-hole courses, and helped grow the sport in cities and towns around the world. As disc golf grew, the number of tournaments and players exploded – the original WB had done its job, and the event took a well-deserved break in 2014.
Over the following decade, as disc golf started to expand into dozens of new countries, the goals of World’s Biggest became more relevant than ever. So in 2024, the dynamic Dee Leekha-Houck, founder and CEO of HouckDesign and founder of 3Disc Golf (Safer, Smarter, and More Sustainable), announced that the World’s Biggest Disc Golf Weekend was coming back to help promote the sport in new countries, to count old and new players in every country, to show the world how big this sport really is. She has made this event the annual fundraiser to help reinvigorate older, unsustainable courses through a new non-profit organization called World’s Biggest Disc Golf Wishes.

This May 9th, 10th, and 11th, YOU can take part in this worldwide celebration. All you have to do is play disc golf that weekend, wherever you are.
